Fiona Luing Jewellery
Fiona Luing Jewellery was set up in 2006 in the Borders of Scotland. I wanted to turn my jewellery making hobby my main occupation, so while taking night classes at Edinburgh College of Art, I set up my business with the help of Scottish Enterprise. I now live and work in Edinburgh, doing my dream job!
I love making, so spend the majority of my time exploring new techniques and trying to improve on the fundamental ones. Working on how to make something new, and solving the puzzles that invevitably arise gives me a great sense of achievement.
Much of my work explores curves and circular forms, with my recent stone setting experiments naturally developing into rounded and bevelled settings. A starting point for my latest work has been looking for bright eye catching gems, then designing the jewellery as an extension of the stone. My latest collection investigates colour theory and how complimentary colours enhance each other while being opposite.
